DO you have a BIG HILL in your life that you love to hate? One that is “Your Hill” How often do you find yourself trying to Conquer your Hill?
I have a big hill and I find myself conquering it often!
It is a long steep hill at the entry to my subdivision.
Some days I jog up this hill.
Other days I do walking lunges up.
On really good days, I jog down and sprint up this hill multiple times.
There are also days when I just walk up this hill with heavy legs and feel so so breathless.
How I get up this hill on any particular day depends on a variety of factors
My mood, my mental state, my physical state, how rested I am.
AND
How I have fueled my body.
That being said, when I am standing at the bottom of this hill it is for ONE reason only!!!
Because I CHOOSE to position myself there!
At the very bottom knowing I have to go all the way back up!
Knowing that going back up is either going to be fun, speedy, and powerful…
OR
Slow, painful, and labored.
The one thing that stays the same is that no matter what -I ALWAYS conquer this hill.
How it is conquered may look different on different days
But I always get up the hill.
WHY??
Because everything I stand for is at the top of that hill.
Your hill could look different that mine. It could be a gravel road, a long steep stretch of highway, or a switchback that winds up a mountain. No matter what your hill looks like, no matter how long, how steep, how slick, how dusty you must get up that hill!
Your hill could symbolize the loss of a loved one, an addiction, weight loss that never happens, an endurance event you desperately want to finish, a swimsuit that you want to wear on that summer vacation. Any number of things that we all struggle with.
You must remember:
You are at the bottom for reason – the only reason you are at the bottom is because you ARE MEANT TO GO UP!
What are you waiting for? Sprint, run, walk, crawl, or drag yourself. I don’t care how you do it but you simply must
GET UP YOUR HILL.
